PRESIDENT GORDON B. HINCKLEY

"To you women of today who are old or young, may I suggest to you that you write, that you keep journals, that you express your thoughts on paper. Writing is a great discipline. It is a tremendous education effort. It will assist you in various ways, and you will bless the lives of many-now and in the years to come, as you put on paper some of your experiences and some of your musings"

Max Moments: HSP....weird reaction to pneumonia

Max caught a typical cold-runny nose and cough. He had it for over a week, nothing too unusual. Then one morning he had red dots on his ankles. The next morning he woke up with more dots but on his hands plus blister-like bumps on his ears. It looked similar to chicken pox. We took him to the doc and after x-rays and tests they diagnosed him with pneumonia and HSP. I was shocked to hear he had pneumonia because he showed no signs of distress in his breathing but the xray revealed fluid in his lungs. Periodically a child can have a reaction to pneumonia and get HSP. Its not contagious nor life threatening unless it reaches the liver. The same spots on the outside are also on the inside of the body. The remedy was simple, just antibiotics. He is all better now
