PRESIDENT GORDON B. HINCKLEY

"To you women of today who are old or young, may I suggest to you that you write, that you keep journals, that you express your thoughts on paper. Writing is a great discipline. It is a tremendous education effort. It will assist you in various ways, and you will bless the lives of many-now and in the years to come, as you put on paper some of your experiences and some of your musings"

New York New York New York: Trip of a Life Time

Of all the surprises Kyle has given me, this trip to New York takes the "cheese" cake. Non-stop fun and excitement. It was a very inspirational trip. When you see yourself at the bottom of these mile high buildings, surrounded by an endless sea of people, you realize how large life can be. Utah may be small but it will grow. Maybe not as large as NY but it will continue to grow. There is so much to accomplish in this life. So many people in NY are reaching their highest goals. For example: think of all the broad way singers and dancers who have worked their entire life to be the greatest and make it to "broad way". They did it!

Mama Mia, Wicked, Rockettes, Today Show, Letterman show, Rockefeller plaza, glam shopping stores, statue of liberty, the Met, Pizza Pizza Pizza, subway, the temple, Bryant Park (ice skating), Spotted Pig, SoHo, etc. We saw a ton but still so much we missed.

Max Moments: School Christmas Program

They sang so many fun songs and Max actually sang and knew all the words. We are still in shock!

Max Moments: HSP....weird reaction to pneumonia

Max caught a typical cold-runny nose and cough. He had it for over a week, nothing too unusual. Then one morning he had red dots on his ankles. The next morning he woke up with more dots but on his hands plus blister-like bumps on his ears. It looked similar to chicken pox. We took him to the doc and after x-rays and tests they diagnosed him with pneumonia and HSP. I was shocked to hear he had pneumonia because he showed no signs of distress in his breathing but the xray revealed fluid in his lungs. Periodically a child can have a reaction to pneumonia and get HSP. Its not contagious nor life threatening unless it reaches the liver. The same spots on the outside are also on the inside of the body. The remedy was simple, just antibiotics. He is all better now
