PRESIDENT GORDON B. HINCKLEY

"To you women of today who are old or young, may I suggest to you that you write, that you keep journals, that you express your thoughts on paper. Writing is a great discipline. It is a tremendous education effort. It will assist you in various ways, and you will bless the lives of many-now and in the years to come, as you put on paper some of your experiences and some of your musings"

Since Conner is off-track for 4 weeks we had his friends over for a Thanksgiving Feast. Each friend brought one of their favorite foods to share. Boy, was it a feast. Talk about nutritious! There was: little smokies, tater tots, shrimp cocktail, ravioli, grapes, carrots, cucumbers, fruit salad, rolls, pumpkin pie and dino-nuggets. After lunch they made the dessert. They broke into teams and helped each other make cupcakes. You should have seen them crack the eggs. Lets just say when the cupcakes were done and you took a bite- they went CRUNCH! Considering their age, they did a

Swim Lessons

The kids took swim lessons again from Becky Thomas. Once again we are very impressed. This year we enrolled Max and he did an amazing job. Check out the clips.

Look what happens when you unbuckle your seatbelt before coming to a complete stop. Lilly unbuckled herself (without my knowledge) just before we pulled into the driveway and when I hit my brakes because kids were around that is when Lilly flew forward and smacked her eye on the vent. Its hard to tell if she has a black eye or make-up. Lesson learned- never unbuckle until the ride has made a complete stop!

For Conner's 7th birthday his grandma and grandpa "gum" gave him a special present. Their pool girl helped them. The pool girl cleans Deron Williams pool too and she asked him to sign a basketball and hat for Conner- his biggest fan. Conner was so happy and excited. What a special blessing.
I was sorting through Lilly's school papers and noticed that one of the pictures she drew was missing an eye. One of the googly eyes came off her picture of a postman. I couldn't find the eye so I just filed it away with her other pictures. A few days later we found the eye- actually Max did. I found the eye in Max's POOPY diaper! He ate it! I couldn't believe my "eyes"! What goes in must come out.
Nice! I have never experienced this before with any of my other kids. I guess there's a first for everything.

A few weeks ago, Kyle had a conference in Orlando and I tagged along. It was a fun 5 days. We went to Epcott, Islands of Adventure, skiing and relaxed by the pool.

Now that summer is here, we are back doing what we love most- BOATING! The water Saturday morning was amazing. It was my first run of the season. It felt good but not so good the next morning- boy, we're our muscles sore!

Lilly learned how to ride a two-wheeled bike! It took about 10 minutes for her to learn but it was the longest 10 minutes of Kyle's life. He ran up and down the street along Lilly's side to make sure she didn't fall.

mothers day

The weekend was awesome! We did the Race for the Cure. It was amazing- I cant believe how many people attend. The kids really got into it. After the race we had lunch at Baxter's. They have delicious food. That night Kyle and Conner went to a Bees game. Today was great-What a wonderful Mother's Day! The kids brought me breakfast in bed. I chose foods from a fun menu- Pancakes for 1 kiss, Waffles for 2 hugs, etc.

I need to mention last weekend. Last Saturday night, Kyle took me out for my birthday. We ate dinner at Harvest at Thanksgiving Point- it was sooo good! Afterwards, we rode the segways at the Gardens. What a blast! If you are looking for a fun date night, I highly recommend riding the segways. You feel like your in a Star Wars movie- gliding through the air. So fun!

The kids are great! Conner enjoys playing baseball on the Angels team. He has one more week of off-track, then he's back in school. Lilly has a dance recital coming up in June. Max loves to walk along the furniture. I dont think he's ever going to crawl. I think he's going start walking instead.

For my birthday, Kyle took me to Harvest restaurant at Thanksgiving Point and it was so delicious! We highly recommended it. Don't pass up appetizers and dessert. After dinner we went to the gardens and rode the Segways! What a blast. We felt like characters from Star Wars- gliding through the air in the most unusual way. For $40 bucks it was an awesome birthday/date night adventure!

Last weekend Andrew and Josh slept over and we had a blast. They played and watched SnowBuddies. Here is a picture of them jumping down the stairs onto piles of blankets and pillows.

Miss Lilly's birthday was yesterday! We celebrated with family. She got a bike and a scooter and now that is all she wants to do. We ate hamburgers, chips, salad and cake. This saturday is her friend party and she is so excited. The theme is Dora.

While Lilly was riding her bike up and down the street, I thought I would try riding Conner's skateboard. I did pretty well until I hit the park strip and turfed it! I landed flat on my face. I was so embarrassed because some of the neighbors were there and started laughing at me. Moms and skateboards do not mix!

Max will be one next month and he might have a tooth before then. His little gums look so swollen, but its been that way for months now.

Conner is driving his uncle Kevin crazy -begging him for Jazz play off tickets. Conner eats, sleeps, and lives BASKETBALL. The kid knows everything about the JAZZ. He surprises me with how much he knows.

It feels like Spring is just around the corner!  We cant wait for warmer weather to play outside. We are counting down the days until our trip to Cancun.  It will be the perfect get-a-way.  We are taking the kids and going with Gary and Dixie, Kevin, Nicole and Beth.  Im curious how Max will be on this trip.  He is a Holy Roller!  This kid rolls everywhere- maybe someday he will crawl.  He doesnt have any teeth yet and he's 9 months, but we love it- it makes him look like a little baby.

Everyday Lilly asks me how many days until her birthday-  i think its 26 days. She is having a Dora Party.  Saturday, she went to her friend Kimberly's puppie party and is now more excited than ever for her birthday party.  She wants a bike, scooter, swing set and a Fur Baby.  Im thinking just a bike.

Conner is the biggest Jazz Fan.  A few weeks ago Kyle got tickets to a Jazz game and asked Conner if he wanted to go and of course he did.  Before he left I told him he needed to promise me that he would stay for the entire game- because last year he went with Kyle and only wanted to stay for an hour. Well, he promised he would stay for the entire game.  So listen to what happens-  Into the 3rd quarter the Jazz are killing the other team and Kyle says to Conner, "we can go home now if you want because it looks like the Jazz are going to win this one."  Conner says No and he wants to stay.  So then, half way through the 4th quarter, the Jazz are still killing this other team and Kyle asks Conner again, "Conner do want to go home since it looks like the Jazz are going to win this one?"  Conner's reply is, "No, I told mom I would stay for the whole game and I don't want to be a liar." --- Oh!  I choked up when Kyle told me that.  He's a good kid.

Welcome to our Blog!  We really enjoyed connecting with friends and family when we were using caringbridge.org but now that life is somewhat back to normal, we thought blogspot would be a better fit.  Later, we will add more postings and pictures.  See ya soon!
