PRESIDENT GORDON B. HINCKLEY

"To you women of today who are old or young, may I suggest to you that you write, that you keep journals, that you express your thoughts on paper. Writing is a great discipline. It is a tremendous education effort. It will assist you in various ways, and you will bless the lives of many-now and in the years to come, as you put on paper some of your experiences and some of your musings"

Conner's Arrow of Light

Way to go!

Have you ever seen a giant smurf dance?

Went to an awesome Halloween party this year!  My friend Jana held a party at the Day Barn with fun, food and DANCING!  Boy, oh boy, was there some dancing....a FLASH MOB happened!  12 of us, guys and girls, got together a few nights before the party and practiced the Thriller dance routine.  Practice nights were called "Club Jana."  Cute Jami Warner taught us the moves.  It was hilarious.  We had so much practicing.  I can't say it was the most amazing flash mob anyone ever saw but it was okay considering what we were working with. lol.  The best part was knowing that I can be silly and have fun because I am among friends.

O.A.R. Concert

OAR concert at the Montage, Deer Valley.  Sooo fun

1st day of school

Jello Fight

One of my favorite places is Thanksgiving Point.  Throughout the summer they offer fun FHE activities for everyone.  One of the funnest nights.....jello fight night.  Other games and activities were setup through out the gardens.  Gorgeous gardens by the way

Mucho Funno!

Taylor Olympics (FHE)

Conner's 11th Birthday

Conner normally has his birthday parties at Grandma Taylors house because of the pool (super cheap parents) but this year he begged for a Boondocks party.  Totally fun!

Conner's Prayer

August 23, 2012

Cool Conner story.  Tuesday night he gets a call from a friend asking him if he wants to go to Lagoon on Wednesday.  Conner asks us, I tell him that we need to talk and he will call him back.  As we talk, Conner has spent all of his money.  We have budgeted all of our money, so the answer is no.  Conner is really bummed, of course.  That night for family prayers Conner prays and asks that we’ll find $50 so he can go to Lagoon.  After the prayer I give Conner the lecture that God won’t do for us that which we aren’t willing to do for ourselves.  So if we aren’t willing to earn money for Lagoon, he just won’t make it appear.  Conner is more bummed.  Later that night I am opening the mail and I open a specific envelope.  Turns out a few months back, we got new brakes on Alena’s car and the repair shop said if we do this rebate, they’ll send us a $50 gift card in the mail.  I had totally forgotten about this.  But it came.  Also, Lagoon was having 2 for 1 day, so it was even more affordable.  So the next morning I asked Conner what he had prayed for last night.  I asked if he had faith.  I asked if he still had faith.  When we told him he could go he was so excited.  He went and said a prayer of thanks.  That kid has a special spirit.

I love you Conner buddy!   PS Will you say a little prayer for me??? Pray that mommy will find enough money for a new couch and chair.... or new tires and rims?  Doesn't hurt to ask, right?

2012 Highlight....The Lakehouse

I can't believe how beautiful it turned out....wow! Lots of fun but lots of work.  The Buzz Lightyear vacuum certainly makes cleaning fun

I love this pic looking out the family room window.

Visiting Teaching gift

I really like how this visit teaching gift turned out.  "Hope your summer is full of sunshine" with all yellow treats

The big 5

What a fun day for Max.  All of his best buddies came to his Safari and had a blast.  They enjoyed monkey eyes, cheetah tails and gator heads along with cupcakes.  I wish i got a pic of the goodie bags but they turned out really cute

I want to be like my big brother!

Max loves to dress up and this is his favorite!  He's actually getting pretty good at cradling the ball

Great American Award

Way to go Conner!  You received your GAA.  What an accomplishment- your hard work paid off

Lacrosse

There is nothing more exciting to watch than LAX.  I love watching Conner play the sport.  He is really progressing and loves it.  He is very lucky to have Kyle as his coach.  They were 8 for 10.  Made to the finals and lost to the other Alta team.  Lame!

LIlly's Baptism

Lilly looked beautiful as always.  She wore a darling white outfit which made her look extra beautiful on her baptism day.  Daddy baptized and confirmed.  Conner gave a talk on the baptism and he was amazing.  Everyone said he sounded like a real pro.  All of our family was there and wrote sweet messages to Lilly which are tucked away into a baptism book. After the baptism we come home to eat creme brule french toast and fruit.  Perfect day!

She's 8

We started the party at the house with treats and opened presents. Then off we went to the Lion House. Lilly said it was the best party EVER! She absolutely loved it! One relieved mommy!

The goody bags had "all things white" to represent her 8th birthday: white nail polish, white candy, and hand sanitizer with a scripture label stuck to it.
