Cool Conner story. Tuesday night he gets a call from a friend asking him if he wants to go to Lagoon on Wednesday. Conner asks us, I tell him that we need to talk and he will call him back. As we talk, Conner has spent all of his money. We have budgeted all of our money, so the answer is no. Conner is really bummed, of course. That night for family prayers Conner prays and asks that we’ll find $50 so he can go to Lagoon. After the prayer I give Conner the lecture that God won’t do for us that which we aren’t willing to do for ourselves. So if we aren’t willing to earn money for Lagoon, he just won’t make it appear. Conner is more bummed. Later that night I am opening the mail and I open a specific envelope. Turns out a few months back, we got new brakes on Alena’s car and the repair shop said if we do this rebate, they’ll send us a $50 gift card in the mail. I had totally forgotten about this. But it came. Also, Lagoon was having 2 for 1 day, so it was even more affordable. So the next morning I asked Conner what he had prayed for last night. I asked if he had faith. I asked if he still had faith. When we told him he could go he was so excited. He went and said a prayer of thanks. That kid has a special spirit.
I love you Conner buddy! PS Will you say a little prayer for me??? Pray that mommy will find enough money for a new couch and chair.... or new tires and rims? Doesn't hurt to ask, right?
