PRESIDENT GORDON B. HINCKLEY

"To you women of today who are old or young, may I suggest to you that you write, that you keep journals, that you express your thoughts on paper. Writing is a great discipline. It is a tremendous education effort. It will assist you in various ways, and you will bless the lives of many-now and in the years to come, as you put on paper some of your experiences and some of your musings"

Ward Party: Shin Dig

Max and Me on Major- (Quinn's horse). It was awesome. Bro. Woolsley told me to get on but I didn't think he was serious because the rides were only for the kids. He told me to jump the fence and get on! Yahoo! I've been on a horse before but the horse knew the trail and I didn't have to steer. This time I did all the work. Then he said to put Max on with me. We had a fun time.

Conner Wakeboarding

Conner got up on the wakeboard on his first try for the first time ever. He was able to go down half the lake. He loved it so much. Daddy is not too happy with Conner's new love of wake boarding. He wants him to ski as much as he does!!

A Lilly Funny

Lilly asked me to get her some yogurt from the fridge. It was plain flavor; a flavor she's never had before. I was pretty sure she wouldn't like it but I let her have a bowl. When she put the first bite in her mouth, her face didn't have much expression but then she said, "Hair tastes better than this stuff"

Conner's Baptism

Conner was baptized August 8th by his dad in the Draper Utah Mountain Point Stake. People in attendance: grandparents, kevin, nicole, beth, carrie, vanya, kate, anne, kathleen, and Liane. We invited our neighbors, the Palayos, who are non-members. They asked me to give a talk on the Holy Ghost. I made it pretty simple and focused on how to identify the whisperings of the Holy Ghost. Just as I was closing my talk. I looked down toward Conner and he was wiping tears from his eyes. I couldn't believe it. He felt the spirit and it touched him. I didn't cry until then. Good thing it was at the end of the talk.
Max was very wild during the meeting. I took him out in the hall while the other kids were being baptized. I didn't notice that they called Conners name to go to the font. Everyone gathered at the font- but not me, Max and Lilly. My neighbor Cheri noticed that I wasn't there and stopped the ordinance from taking place so someone could come get us. That would have been TERRIBLE if i missed conners baptism.
After the baptism we made the move to CHUCK-A -RAMA. One of Conner's favorite places to eat. It was perfect. Since the day before the baptism was busy (Lagoon), and there aren't very many people in our family- going out to eat was perfect.

Cub Scouts

Conner went to Scout Camp. He loved it. He loved the trading post- he loved it so much that he spent all of his birthday money on toys, $23 dollars worth of toys! I had no idea that he took his money. Hopefully he won't regret his decision.
The highlights: race water, archery, sling shooting, tent holding, mask making and being with friends.

Family Favorite Photos

Jeff and Jess

Today the Christiansen's came with us. Jeff got right up on the wakeboard and "killed it" He is good. Jess was awesome! She got up on her first try. Grace also skiied. She got up her first time. She was so brave to try something new. Kyle is a good ski instructor.

At the Lake with the Bairds

Today the Bairds came with us to the lake. We weren't sure how Mike would do on the wakeboard but whatever happens all he needs is some icyhot. The girls loved making sculptures with the clay they found under the dock. Andrew came with us and the boys loved going on adventures. They swam across the lake to see what was on the other side. They played with clay, found baby birds and teased mom. One funny thing that Elizabeth said about her dad: After Mike took a spill from trying to slolam, Liz said., " See, my dad just fell- that's how good he is!"

The Big 8

Conner is now 8. He turned 8 this week and it was such a special day for him. He is so excited to be a scout and get baptized. He had a birthday party at his grandma's pool and the boys (14 boys) had a blast. They really enjoyed catching the football from the diving board. Conner is so lucky to have such great friends. We also got together with family to celebrate his big day. He loves his new scooter and suit.
4th of July. We spent the day at the lake with friends. All the kids tried to waterski. The boys, of course, had to compete and see who could stay up the longest. Landon and Conner need to do a rematch. Later that night we watched fireworks at the neighbors. Great Day!!!

Generations of Friends

This photo was taken 4 years ago- Conner, Jackson and Tanner. Here is a photo of Max and Jackson's little brother Cole.

With the Bowens

What a beautiful place. We spent the night with friends, the Bowens. We did lots of skiing and wakeboarding and smores by the fire. Kyle played the guitar- but we had a hard time finding a song we all knew. For some reason the Bowen's didn't know Kyle's favorite song, "every girl smells like poo" ( a high school favorite). Cute family

Lilly's Tumbling performance

I am truly amazed at how much Lilly learned this year in tumbling. She can do perfect cartwheels and back walk overs. It only took her 5 months- which I think is pretty good. GO LILLY!

A few photos from women's conference.  It was a great experience and  I really enjoyed it.  It was very stressful but I'm glad I did it.

We braved the swine flu in Mexico.  Viva Mexico!  Now we are back to real life- no more senoritas bringing us drinks by the pool, no more cleaning service, no more "all you can eat" buffets, no more ocean, and no more mariachi bands.  We love Mexico but we really love Draper Utah, ya-all!

Max's New Thing

Max loves to climb into the sink now.  He also likes to brush his teeth, but he loves spitting more than brushing.

Lilly's Birthday

Guess Who's Five?  Lillycat!  She had a fabulous time on her birthday.  It was held at the Farm at Thanksgiving Point.  It was the easiest party for me, but tons of fun for the girls (and 3 boys).  They got their faces painted, pet and fed an old pony, fed the animals, pony rides, wagon ride and ate cake and ice cream.  Her friends are so cute and we hope they had a fun time too.

Thursday, November 20, 2008

Since Conner is off-track for 4 weeks we had his friends over for a Thanksgiving Feast. Each friend brought one of their favorite foods to share. Boy, was it a feast. Talk about nutritious! There was: little smokies, tater tots, shrimp cocktail, ravioli, grapes, carrots, cucumbers, fruit salad, rolls, pumpkin pie and dino-nuggets. After lunch they made the dessert. They broke into teams and helped each other make cupcakes. You should have seen them crack the eggs. Lets just say when the cupcakes were done and you took a bite- they went CRUNCH! Considering their age, they did a

Happy Halloween! What a busy week we had just days before Halloween- School parties, church parties, play groups, etc. It was all so fun.
